By remodeling, you are already taking steps to be green.  By not building a new home, you use less material, have less waste, use less transportation and rarely need additional land.  Let us help you love your home and be green at the same time.  Here are five simple ways you can be green during your remodeling project.

Use the space you already have. By changing the flow of your home or the use of a room can add more useable space without adding on.
Recycle your old stuff.  Appliances, wood, fixtures, hardware, even insulation can be reused.  Check with your local building recycle center or ask your builder.
Ask your builder to recycle their own materials, such as wood, paper, metals and more. Much of today’s waste comes from the building industry.
Choose to use green materials. There are thousands of products available that are considered green.  Look at local sources for counter tops, floors, cabinets, windows, stone and more.
Maximize your efficiency.  One of the best ways to be green is to be energy efficient. During the remodeling project install LEED recommended insulation; upgrade old windows and heating/cooling systems for maximum efficiency.
